Pennsylvania

This weekend we went to Pennsylvania to spend some time with Fran's family. We had a great time!! We laughed a lot and enjoyed some great weather. It was so cool outside that we grilled out 2 nights in a row and ate dinner outside. It was very nice to enjoy an evening that was not 100 degrees! I enjoyed spending time with my nieces and nephews. They are too precious for words!

I made my first trip to Babies R Us and didn't even know where to begin. Wanna talk about overwhelming?? So many different types of strollers, car seats, high chairs...I mean how to decide?? I glady welcome any feedback on the best baby products that are out there. Looks like I have some research to do, as far as which products are best and most safe, Yikes!!

I hope everyone had a great weekend and that you have a great week! Here are a few pictures from our weekend.

15 Week Appointment

Today we had our 15 week appointment with Dr. Bathgate at GW! We didn't do an ultrasound today but we were able to hear the heartbeat, which is always a relief. I always feel better hearing Baby P's heartbeat! Everything is going great so far. I have been feeling great and the tiredness has gone away somewhat. I am still having skin issues, ugh. And oddly enough I had to stop wearing my wedding ring because it was causing this awful reaction to my skin. Crazy the things that happen to your body. Other than those minor issues I have gained 3.5 pounds and all looks good.

We have our 20 week appointment at the end of September and we couldn't be more excited! Of course we have decided to find out the sex of the baby. We can hardly stand to wait any longer. I am so excited to find out so I can really start planning the nursery and also picking a fabulous name other than Baby P, haha!

So until then I will try to keep you posted on any other fun things going on here in DC!

First Trimester Screening

So back on August 2nd we had our first trimester screening. This screening includes an ultrasound and some blood work. So of course we got to see the little Baby Person again and hear the hearbeat! It is amazing to see how much bigger he/she has gotten in just a few weeks! We even got to see the baby move during the ultrasound! Good news is that everything came back normal and the baby looks great, so we could not be more blessed! I included the picture from that ultrasound above.

Baby P is already very loved! He/she has received 4 outfits already! I had to include the picture of one outfit in particular in the spirit of Carolina football starting in t-minus 8 days! Woohoo Go Gamecocks! So needless to say our little one will be ready to go next football season!I especially like the back of the outfit, you will see why. Thank you Aunt Lindsay and Aunt Chelsea!

8 Week Ultrasound

I forgot to include the 8 week ultrasound in the first post, so here ya go!

We are having a baby!!

Fran and I found out on June 16th, our 3 year anniversary, that we were going to have a baby in February!! I had told Fran earlier that morning that I thought I was a couple weeks late and so that afternoon I took a pregnancy test. Sure enough there were two lines and I couldn't believe it! It just happened so fast and I hadn't really felt any different, so I honestly didn't believe the first test so I took another one. Sure enough the second test just proved the first one right. So that evening we went to The W Hotel in downtown DC to not only celebrate our 3 year anniversary but also our baby news! So needless to say the bottle of champagne that we ordered was only enjoyed by Fran, haha!

On July 8th I went in for my first ultrasound at George Washington Hospital. That is really when I believed it, when I saw the little baby on the monitor and heard the heart beat. It was amazing. According to the Ultrasound, our baby is due on February 17th, 2011.

So far the pregnancy has been great. I mean I have been really tired and have had some skin issues, but other than that no nausea or vomiting, so I really can't complain.

As far as this blog goes, I am new to all of this. I am not 100% sure how to work it yet, so hang in there with me. I am going to try and get better, haha!
